In response to this the Government launched the Enterprise Finance Guarantee (EFG) scheme. Focused upon improving the accessibility to working capital and investment funds for Small and Medium sized Enterprises in the UK.

A Community Development Finance Institution, established in 2004 to provide access to finance to people wanting to start a business, and established businesses wanting to grow who are unable to access conventional bank support.
