We've been awarded a Small Business Bronze award at the Wellbeing at Work Awards!

Operated by Public Health at East Sussex County Council, the Wellbeing at Work Programme aims to provide support to East Sussex employers with improving employee health and wellbeing in their workplace.

With it being the county standard of good practice in health and wellbeing in the workplace, the programme helps to guide employers on a journey of health improvement through a framework of awards which contain specific criteria to achieve.

LDBG awarded Bronze at the Wellbeing at Work Award

In January 2024, Let’s Do Business Group were presented with a Bronze Award. This award focusses on building the foundations of a healthy workplace and is a starting point for organisations to improve wellbeing in their workplace or have already begun to implement positive changes.

The journey to this began by running a staff health and wellbeing survey, which helped to shape our focus and understand what needed prioritising. Focussing on mental health and healthy aging, we have implemented an Employee Assistance Programme – Breathe HR – and offered a mental health awareness workshop to all staff, which was well received. During 2023, Let’s Do Business Group teamed up with award-winning healthcare provider Benenden Health, covering the cost for staff, who provide extra support with health and wellbeing. This support includes a 24/7 mental health helpline, medical diagnostics and treatment, and a wellbeing hub, along with a range of other services.

Going through the Bronze Award helped us focus on the wellbeing of our team and it has given us the opportunity to improve our systems and practices. We were already doing a lot in terms of wellbeing, but the programme gave us a good framework that enabled us to enhance what we were already doing to support colleagues.

Thinking of the future, Let’s Do Business Group plan to bring attention to menopause awareness, with courses for all our leaders, and have a menopause champion in our workplace who will support our colleagues.

Thank you to Flavia Melo Dewey, Wellbeing at Work Support Officer from East Sussex County Council who visited our office and presented the award. For more information about Let’s Do Business Group and our work, click here.
