Southend Business Support

Let’s Do Business Group awarded contract to deliver specialist financial support to businesses in Southend-On-Sea.

Thanks to Southend-On-Sea City Council and funding through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, new and established businesses in the city can benefit from specialist business support as they navigate the upcoming challenging years and look forward towards growth.

The finance advice for business project has been created to provide micro and small businesses with support in planning for and accessing finance to help sustain and develop. The support will be provided through 1:2:1 sessions with business advisors, to develop action plans and steps for moving forward. Business advisors will also be able to support business owners with access to finance, utilising schemes such as Start Up Loans and the Recovery Loan Scheme from the British Business Bank.

Southend-On-Sea based businesses will also be offered access to several workshops and training sessions, helping them to improve their financial literacy and create a solid business plan and financial forecast to maintain a robust and sustainable business. This project is fully funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, which makes it available to businesses at no charge.

Southend City Council Shared Prosperity Fund

The UK Shared Prosperity Fund is a central pillar of the UK government's Levelling Up agenda and provides £2.6 billion of funding for local investment by March 2025. The Fund aims to improve pride in place and increase life chances across the UK investing in communities and place, supporting local business, and people and skills.

Let’s Do Business Group already has a proven track record in Essex, delivering the Backing Essex Business support programme, which in its first year supported over 400 businesses, creating and safeguarding 460 jobs. They are also accredited as a Commercial Finance Broker which enables them to make connections with a range of lenders to signpost clients to the most appropriate support for their business, making them the ideal organisation to provide this service.

In a time of economic uncertainty, it is imperative that we provide as much help to businesses as we can, to ensure our local economy remains buoyant. We are delighted to be able to extend our support to the businesses of Southend-On-Sea, sharing our knowledge and expertise to protect their future.
