What began as a personal hobby turned into a full-scale business with support under the RISE Hastings Programme and a £25,000 Start Up Loan, transforming a former salon into a bustling local hotspot. Today, Cured Delicatessen is not only reviving traditional charcuterie, but also contributing to the regeneration of Harold Road and bringing the community together – one salchichón at a time.

With over 70 years of combined experience, Gareth & Andrew they turned their vision into reality – crafting bespoke metalwork and shaping the future of their industry. Supported by the RISE Hastings Programme, they navigated the challenges of launching a business, setting a foundation for growth, innovation, and future apprenticeships.

The RISE Hastings programme came to fruition after Hastings Borough Council’s successful bid for UK Shared Prosperity funding in 2022, with the North Hastings area being identified as a location that would benefit from increased investment in business support and local skills.

The new GAIN Growth and Innovation Network has come to Hastings for its first cohort - bringing together business owners and leaders from across the town to learn together and benefit from expert-led sessions and mentoring opportunities.

On Wednesday 24th January, Let’s Do Business Group and other providers of the RISE Hastings programme hosted the first Opportunity Fair at the Broomgrove Community Centre in Hastings – showcasing the support on offer for local residents to gain new skills, start or grow a business, and succeed in the town.

The R.I.S.E Hastings project, funded by Hastings Borough Council and the Shared Prosperity Fund from the UK Government, will be delivered by Let’s Do Business Group, Southern Housing and Education Futures Trust, and aims to help to reinvigorate the area and provide residents with new skills and support to succeed.

Let’s Do Business Group have been delighted to take part in the recent project which came to an end in July 2022, which marked two successful years of delivering free support to local entrepreneurs and businesses that wanted to take their ideas to the next level.
